How to Start

Contact us to sign up and book an induction (after you will receive a link to set up your membership) and ask about our Traffic Light Programming in your induction if you need guidance on your workouts.

Please note Gym Memberships are housed at The Lifting Corner (not studio), the address is 155A Brighton Road, CR5 2NH and we are between Aldi and the newsagents.

Kindly note parking is not available.

Schedule

We now have 58 hours available for gym members every week, which is increasing to over 60 hours from April.

  • Commercial Plate Loaded Leg Extension (dual use)

  • Commercial Pin Cable Machine (dual pulley suitable for chest press etc)

  • Commercial Treadmill

  • Commercial Pin Leverage Squat Machine

  • Hyperextension

  • Dumbbells up to 40kg each

  • TRX (Suspended Trainer)

  • 15kg ladies olympic bar and 20kg standard powerlifting bar with bumper plates

  • Adjustable and Flat Competition Benches

  • Accessories including Bands, Wheeled Roller, Hip Circles, Glute Thrust Bench, Slam Balls (10/15kg), Micro Addition plates (add to dumbbells/cable machine) and Crash Pads.

Plus Air Conditioning and Heating for your comfort, plus every booking is completely private (no other users or trainers in the studio).

Programming (for gym members)

This option is recommended for Lifting Corner Gym Members who would like additional programming support, and is purchased seperately by contacting Flora at theliftingcorner@gmail.com .

The Programmes

Three goals set over one ‘suggested’ day of programming, and one ‘mandatory’ day of programming (2 days per week); 

  1. Familiarisation with LC equipment specifically (and most commercial gyms)/ maximise potential of equipment

  2. Mastery of very effective movements in a total body approach specific to level of experience (effective for muscle gain and strength improvement)

  3. Encourage curiosity and exploration of underutilised movement patterns / common training blind spots 

Progresses over 8 weeks, provided at once should you wish to cycle through the weeks faster than 2 sessions per week. If you wish to then progress to the next level of programming (e.g. from Red to Orange), the option is there for you. Each 8 weeks of programming comes at a cost of £99.

Kindly note that completely individualised programming only comes with 1-1 Personal Training, however the google sheet will allow you to enter your own weights and reps to keep a record, led by programmed weight suggestions (by percentages and a 1 rep max calculator for the less experienced lifters), which will all be explained on the programming document.

Each movement and piece of equipment has been carefully selected by head coach Flora, based on her experience with clients over the previous 8 years of coaching across different settings and levels, and obtaining an MSc in Coaching Sports Performance from Stirling University. 

Green - Over 2 years of lifting recommended

Orange - Under 2 years of lifting experience / some confidence

Red - Beginner / unconfident lifter
